About the Author
Greg Paullus attended Simpson College with the help of an academic scholarship. Graduating with a BA in English, he
then began writing at a radio and television station.
Drafted within six weeks, he served with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.
Following discharge, he resumed writing in the advertising agency business, where he earned his living for 40 years. At age 38, he started his own firm with the help of a partner. With only four people, the tiny, creative-driven shop improbably competed with agencies employing hundreds and had clients traveling to Iowa from as far as the East Coast.
Now retired in Estes Park, Colorado, the passion for creative writing has segued into the deep study of haiku, a loved art form since youth.

The haiku does not rest on words or theoretical knowledge, but on direct, shared experience. So, until a haiku is shared,
it is not a haiku - just as a meal is not a meal as long as it languishes in a recipe book.
